The "Judgment" is going on right now for those who are "in Christ;" those professing and confessing His name and claiming to be His:
"For the time has come for Judgment, and it must begin FIRST among God's own Children. And if we Christians must be Judged, what terrible fate awaits those who have never believed God's Good News?" (I Peter 4:17 NLT New Living Translation)
This is in keeping with Christ parables like the "talents" and "pounds," in which the "Nobleman" went to a far country [Christ to heaven], and who gives His servants [His disciples] stewardship over His domain in His absence... and who after a long time, returns to "reward" them for their labors [or lack of it] while He was gone.
So, "people in Christ" SHOULD BE praying, "without ceasing," studying and learning His Word, The Bible, to learn to obey Him and learn to "be like Him." Using their talents in the employ of their Master to "do the works" that Christ gives them to do:
"...Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is True and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT. It's God's way of PREPARING US IN EVERY WAY, fully equipped for EVERY GOOD THING GOD WANTS US TO DO." (II Tim.3:16-17 NLT)
In the part of Judgment Day that the Bible tells us is coming at the "end of the Millennial Rule of Christ"... it won't be "those who are in Christ" being Judged, but, all those untold millions throughout the generations of mankind that have come and gone who were NEVER IN CHRIST!
Those who are "in Christ"... who are "being Judged now"... will "have their works Judged and rewarded" AT THE IMMEDIATE TIME OF CHRIST's RETURN. Again... as the parable reveals:
"After a long time their Master returned from His trip and called them to give an account of how they had used His money." (Matt.25:19 NLT)
The parable reveals that in the final analysis of God's servants... there will be good and faithful ones... and, not-so-good ones. But each will be rewarded in accordance with their "Faithful" or "Faithless" works:
"...'Well done, My good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together!'" (verse 23)
or
"...'You wicked and lazy servant! You think I AM a hard man, do you, harvesting crops I didn't plant and gathering crops I didn't cultivate? Well, you should have at least put My money into the bank so I could have some interest. Take the money from this servant and give it to the one with the ten bags of gold.'" (verses 26-28)
Therefore... in this phase of Judgment Day; the immediate time of Christ's return to earth -- Jesus Christ will "reward" each of His servants with a job, office, or position of authority in the running and function of His Kingdom over the nations of the world.
"To all who are victorious, who obey Me to the very end, I will give authority over all the nations. They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots." (Rev.2:26-27 NLT)
The "people in Christ" will IMMEDIATELY be CHANGED into the firstborn generation of the Immortal Children of the Eternal Family of God [see I Cor.15:51-53]... and rule the Kingdom of God with Christ for a thousand years BEFORE THE FINAL PHASE OF JUDGMENT of "everyone else."
"Then I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them had been given authority to Judge... They came to Life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years. THIS IS THE FIRST RESURRECTION. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life UNTIL THE THOUSAND YEARS HAD ENDED.) Blessed and Holy are those who share in the First Resurrection. For them the SECOND DEATH holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him a thousand years." (Rev.20:4-6 NLT)
DURING the thousand year rule of God's Kingdom over the earth... the "people in Christ" [now, full-fledged, changed and Immortal Children of God born into God's Family] -- they will then BE THE JUDGES!!! The Rulers and Leaders, Kings, Priests and Judges over all the nations of the world... as Christ promised... and will appoint and reward them their positions according to their works -- just like "the rest of the dead" will be Judged according to theirs.
"DO YE NOT KNOW THAT THE SAINTS SHALL JUDGE THE WORLD? ..." (I Cor.6:2 KJV).
"...the saints of the Most High SHALL TAKE THE KINGDOM, and POSSESS THE KINGDOM FOR EVER, even for ever and ever." (Dan.7:18 KJV)
"...the Ancient of Days came, and JUDGMENT WAS GIVEN TO THE SAINTS of the Most High and the time came that THE SAINTS POSSESSED THE KINGDOM." (verse 22)
The false religions of the world keep missing it. They keep sending God's people to heaven in their teachings... while the Bible reveals a quite different picture of "waiting for Christ's return," to raise the "dead in Christ" from their graves... at which time, they will receive their "rewards."
"When the Son of Man shall come in His Glory, and all His holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the Throne of His Glory... Then shall the King say unto THEM ON HIS RIGHT HAND [the people in Christ; the saints], Come, ye blessed of My Father, INHERIT THE KINGDOMprepared for you from the foundation of the world..." (Matt.25:31-34 KJV).
So, the "DAY" of Judgment is a process that's somewhat longer than a 24-hour day. God's saints [the "people in Christ"] are "being Judged NOW." At Christ's return, they shall be "rewarded" according to Christ's Judgment of them.
"We give thanks to you, LORD God Almighty, the One who IS and ALWAYS WAS, for now you have assumed your Great Power and have begun to reign. The nations were angry with you, but now the time of your Wrath has come. IT IS TIME TO JUDGE THE DEAD and REWARD YOUR SERVANTS. You will reward your prophets and your holy people, all who fear your name, from the least to the greatest. And you will destroy all who have caused the destruction of the earth." (Rev.11:17-18 NLT)
Then comes the "Great White Throne" Judgment at the end of the thousand year rule [Rev.20:11], in which the "people in Christ" will BE the Judges; when the dead... and Satan and the demons will, at long last, be brought to trial.
"...God has kept them chained in prisons of darkness, WAITING FOR THE DAY OF JUDGMENT." (Jude 1:6 NLT)
"...God did not spare even the angels when they sinned; He threw them into hell [tartaroo], in gloomy caves of darkness UNTIL THE JUDGMENT DAY." (II Peter 2:4 NLT)
This is another function of "how a person in Christ" will be in the Day of Judgment. It's another Truth of God's Word that this world's false religions keep missing.
"Don't you realize that we Christians WILL JUDGE ANGELS? So you should surely be able to resolve ordinary disagreements here on earth." (I Cor.6:3 NLT)
Overall... the "people in Christ" will be "just like Him":
"...the Spirit of the LORD will rest upon Him - the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit if Counsel and Might, the Spirit of Knowledge and the Fear of the LORD. He will delight in obeying the LORD. He will NEVER JUDGE by appearance, false evidence, or hearsay. He will defend the poor and the exploited. He will rule AGAINST the wicked and DESTROY them with the breath of His mouth." (Isa.11:2-4 NLT)
The "people of Christ" will execute their appointed Offices of Authority over the nations EXACTLY as the King will:
"Many nations will come and say, 'Come, let us go up to the Mountain of the LORD, to the Temple of the God of Israel. There He [and His people] will teach us His Ways, so that we may obey Him.' For in those days the LORD's [and His people's] teaching and His Words will go out from Jerusalem. The LORD [and His people] will settle international disputes. All the nations will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. All wars will stop, and military training will come to an end." (Isa.2:3-4 NLT)
The Bible and the Laws of God recorded therein [of which this world grows less and less tolerant] WILL BE THE LAW OF THE LAND... the "Constitution of the Kingdom of God." And it will be the things written in the "books of the Bible," that will "be opened on Judgment Day," that shall be the "measuring stick" by which all men shall be Judged:
"...the books were opened... And the dead were Judged according to the things written in the books, according to what they had done." (Rev.20:12 NLT)
"...anyone who hears Me and doesn't obey Me, I AM not His Judge - ...But all who reject Me and My message WILL BE JUDGED AT THE DAY OF JUDGMENT BY THE TRUTH I HAVE SPOKEN." (John 12:47-48 NLT) Which is, of course, written in the Word of God, the books of the Bible.
That's how the "people in Christ" will be on the Day of Judgment. They're being Judged now -- by the Word of God, the books of the Bible, which they should be learning to follow and obey through the Holy Spirit and the Power of God.
First... they will be Judged by it. Then, they will be rewarded by Christ according to how they Lived by it. Then, in accordance with their rewards... they will become the Judges of the nations of the world [co-rulers with Christ for a thousand years] -- and TEACHING THE NATIONS GOD'S WAYS from those books; teaching the nations to conform to them, and obey them.
"...I will put My Laws IN THEIR MINDS so they will Understand them, and I will WRITE THEM ON THEIR HEARTS so they will obey them. I will be their God, and they will be My people. And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their family, saying, 'You should know the LORD.' For EVERYONE, from the least to the greatest, WILL ALREADY KNOW ME. And I will forgive their wrongdoings, and I will never again remember their sins..." (Heb.8:10-12 NLT)
On Judgment Day... the "people in Christ" will be put to work by Jesus Christ in the running of His Kingdom; teaching the nations to LOVE and CARE about one another... teaching them to be MERCIFUL and PATIENT with one another... teaching them to be Righteous, Obedient and Happy: so that they may be born into the Family of God, just as they were by the Grace and Mercy of their Savior, Jesus Christ. So that by the end of Judgment Day... "the rest of the dead" might be saved and be born into God's Immortal Family, also, changed and reborn as the Immortal Children of God, numbering as many as the stars in the heavens.
Jesus Christ, son of God.
We won't know until we get there. We have to try to live right now, so that we don't have to answer to terrible things when we get to judgment day(:
In Catholicism, the Day of Judgment, also known as the Last Judgment, refers to the final judgment by God of all humanity at the end of time, when Christ will return to assess each person's life and faith. It is believed that the righteous will be rewarded with eternal life in heaven, while those who have rejected God will face eternal separation from Him. This day is often associated with the fulfillment of God's promise of justice and mercy. The concept of peace is linked to the hope of salvation and the restoration of creation, where God's kingdom will ultimately reign.
