The 12 Apostles are men. Jesus chose them. One was replaced and he was a man too. You have to remember they were all Jews and they lived in 30 A.D. It was not a time when it was COMMON for Jewish women to be leaders of men. Mary Magdalene was a very special woman because she faithfully followed Jesus and served Him for the rest of her life. The Catholic Church even sainted her. Quite an honor. It is too bad she was not chosen by Jesus to be an Apostle (disciple) but He knew what he was doing and why He made His choices as he did.
Judas Iscariot was one of the original disciples of Jesus Christ, and the one who betrayed Him. He was not a blood brother of Jesus.
Maria is the form of Mary used by the Romance Languages. A girl named Maria is usually named for Mary, the mother of Jesus, or for Mary Magdalene.
The woman named in Matthew 27:56 who followed Jesus from Galilee and witnessed his crucifixion was Mary Magdalene.
The first person to come to the tomb was Mary Magdalene.
Yes, according to the Bible, Mary Magdalene was present at the crucifixion of Jesus along with other women, such as Jesus' mother Mary. Mary Magdalene is often mentioned as being at the cross in the Gospels, showing her devotion and loyalty to Jesus even in his darkest hour.
This is not enumerated in the Bible. While the apostles are named and counted as 12, there are no references to how many disciples there were, although we do know they were not all men - the women were also disciples.
Disciple can refer to others besides the Twelve. The verb 'follow' became something of a technical term Jesus used to call His disciples, who were then called followers. The larger group of followers included men and women (Luke 8:1-3). Mary Magdalene eventually became a part of an inner circle of supporters of Jesus (Mark 15:40; Matt. 27:56; John 19:25).
Paul never met Jesus and is not numbered among his disciples. He called himself an apostle.Another answer:The answer is yes, all those named in the question were disciples of Jesus. (It would also be quite impossible for one to be an apostle without first being a disciple.)
No, there was only one disciple named Judas among Jesus' followers.
Judas Iscariot was the one who betrayed Jesus.
Yes there is
The Bible does not mention how many were in the boat. Only Peter is specifically named.
