No, absolutely not. The Devil "believes" in God a lot more than you do - and it does him no good, he is still in hell for all eternity. Every single person in hell believes in God and they are most obviously not saved.
The problem that you have to confront is that when Protestant "Christians" use the word saved they are actually talking about three different things:
1) Redemption - every single person who ever lived has been redeemed by Our Blessed Lord's sacrifice of Himself on the cross.
2) Justification - this is what we are in the process of during our entire lives. Justification involves applying the redemption that Our Blessed Lord has accomplished and becoming perfect. We are all called to be perfect by the time we die. If we fail in this, but are still in a state of grace when we die, then there is a state where people are purified in order to enter heaven.
3) Salvation - this happens ONLY after you have died and are judged. It is an instantaneous thing, the instant you die you stand before the Almighty and realize if you actually loved God enough in this life to follow Him or not; and you cast yourself into hell, purgatory, or heaven, depending on how you lived your life. The final state (heaven and hell are both final states, purgatory is just that cleansing for those who died imperfect but in the love of God; the final state of heaven {or purgatory if you are not yet perfect}) is salvation; its alternative is damnation.
We know that salvation is not accomplished in this life because The Bible explains this, and the Church teaches it: justification is a process that occupies our entire lives, then comes judgment and THEN comes salvation or damnation. People who believe that they are "saved" here in this life are either talking about redemption or they are sinning fatally and eternally through the sin of presumption- which is the sin which says that you can know what your final destination is.
You may only have a firm hope - as the Bible explains - but you must "work out your salvation with fear and trembling" (Philippians 2:12) and never presumptuously believe that you are already saved.
by God
Saved by WHO ? IF by God then you have your answer. If not by anyone, then they are not saved. This is absurd, to write like this.
depends on what you mean by "saved." If you mean by God then, yes. They were purity rings.
The belief that God wills for all to be saved is a theological concept that varies among different religious traditions. Some believe that God desires all people to be saved, while others believe in the concept of predestination, where God has already chosen who will be saved. Ultimately, the answer to this question depends on one's interpretation of scripture and religious beliefs.
John calvin.
No, and as I in no way believe in the existence of God or Jesus, I never will be either.
The baptists believe that if you are saved, by baptism. Then you will be saved for ever. This is not true, you can always backslide from the word of god.
Being saved or not being saved is a matter of religious faith. There never has been any extra-biblical proof that Jesus is God, or even that God exists. The consequence is that, if Jesus is God then those who believe in him have a hope of being saved; if God does not exist, then salvation has no meaning and our reward for good works is here on earth; if God exists, but Jesus is not God, then it depends on whether God is angry at those who mistakenly worshipped a false God, or is willing to forgive them.
Romans 10:9-10 9 If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
The expression "you found god" means that you or someone else has been saved.
The Bible does not say this. God is never done with us. The Bible says you are saved when you confess with mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord.
It means that if you believe that God gave his son to pay the price for your sins instead of you paying for them, TRULY believe with your whole heart, and if you admit to God in prayer that you are a sinner and ask for forgiveness for your sins, then you will be saved by the blood of Jesus, and you will be a believer and a Christian.
