First of all, Deuteronomy was written in the Hebrew language. There are two options for the style of writing, depending on the time Deuteronomy was actually written.
Tradition holds that the book was written by Moses in the fifteenth century BCE, during the Bronze Age. All known Semitic writings from the Bronze Age were written in a script known as proto-cuneiform.
However, most scholars say that Deuteronomy was really written in the seventh century BCE, in a noticeably more modern form of Hebrew. Hebrew was written in an alphabetic script at this time.
