Jehoiada a priest commanded that athaliah be slain and they slew her with a sword by the king's house. 2 chronicles 23:14-15
Matthew 1:1-17 is the geneology (ancestral history) of Jesus.
Athaliah was the daughter of the wicked Baal worshiping wife of King Ahab of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, Jezebel. Through marriage to Jehoram King of Judah who himself 'walked in the ways of the Kings of Israel' she came to high position. When Ahaziah, who was also wicked, died after only one year on the throne, Athaliah plotted to take the throne and had all the royal descendants killed except Joash who had been taken away from the slaughter. Athaliah thus ruled in Judah from 841-835 BC having usurped the throne. When Joash was old enough he was put onto the throne and Athaliah removed.
Ruth is named in the genealogy of Christ. Therefore Ruth was one of Christ's ancestors.
destroyed her husband
Here are some: Jezebel, Athaliah
No I do not think so. We can see by the Old Testament that God considered homosexuality a sin (Genesis 19:4-7) and probably would have destroyed anyone practicing that sin as He did Sodom, especially if they had been in Jesus ancestry. This is not saying that Jesus' ancestors were sinless because they were not, but they paid for their sin if they did not repent.
No, he was a Roman Catholic (one of the first Christian churches to emerge after the lifetime of Jesus Christ). His ancestors were all from Ireland.
Adam and Eve are the ancestors of everyone. Since Jesus was born to mortal parents on Earth, that applies to him to. ~*Answered by a Mormon*~
If one of your ancestors was of white/European descent, and one of your ancestors was a Native American, you are a mestizo.
Her name was Athaliah. She's found in II Kings several times. Most notably though in II Kings 11.1ff where she ordered the killing of the entire royal family (her own grandchildren!) to consolidate her ascension to the throne. Luckily one of those grandchildren survived (Joash) and became king when he was 8 years old, thus deposing his grandmother Athaliah. (Incidentally had she killed Joash Jesus would never have been born since Joash was the last surviving member of the Davidic line. Luck or providence? I'm going with providence!)
