By no means. Sainthood, by common definition, is extremely rare. Not even all saints are saints. The Catholic Church, unfortunately, has a history of awarding sainthood for reasons not directly tied to a person's deeds while on earth. Recently they have lowered their standards, by using the amount of money raised for the Church as one barometer (See: Mother Teresa ) Other denominations, I'm sure, find political and personal reasons to sanctify one person or another. Most other organized religions do not confer a "saint-hood" upon their practictioners. There are no Islamic, Jewish, Buddhist or Hindu saints, so far as I know. So I guess that makes Christians better then them, eh?... ( note Sense of Irony, please..) A saint, according to The Bible, is a person who faithfully worships the God of the Bible, and is selected by God to rule, with other saints and with Jesus Christ, over the earth and earth's inhabitants. See Daniel Chapter 7 v 17-27 and Revelation 5:6-10; and 13:12. According to the bible, it is God, not any person or group of persons. who chooses the saints. (2 Tim 2:10-12)
These 'saints' are selected to rule as Kings in the heavenly Kingdom of God. The meek will inherit the earth and live forever upon it (Psalm 37:9-11,29; Matthew 5:5), under the loving care of that heavenly government in the hands of Christ Jesus and his co-rulers (Isaiah 9:6,7).
Different Christian denominations, however, have different opinions about what these bible verses really reveal about God's will for those specially chosen for that heavenly existence with Christ Jesus.
The saints are to be kings and priests, a special role in God's grand purpose to re-establish the paradise, the one he first started with Adam and Eve. (See Genesis.)
Other Christian believers, who are not saints i.e. not called to heaven to be kings and priests, will be the beneficiaries of that kingdom.
There may even be some 'christians' who are not really christians at all because they do not follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 7:21-23) They certainly cannot be 'saints'!
