No God No Satan - why do most well known religions blame Satan for the bad things that happen?

No: Judaism does not blame Satan. In Judaism, Satan is the loyal assistant to God, tasked to tempt people in order to test their righteousness. In particular, Christianity and Islam do blame Satan for evil that happens. In this they closely follow Zoroastrianism, wherein Ahriman (or 'Angra Mainyu') is the evil adversary of Ahura Mazda. For some reason, Judaism did not evolve Satan as an adversary, in the way the others did.

Why do we blame God?

Not everyone blames God. Those who do blame God blame him for different things. Some blame him for (1) everything that goes wrong, others might blame him for (2) some of the things that afflict us, or others, as individuals, or for (3) sad events that have befallen groups of people at certain times, or for (4) things that have soured the entire 'human existence' from time immemorial. Those who believe that everything that happens is part of God's script or plan, logically blame things on that supernatural deity because 'he/she/it ' must have organised and pre-ordained it. Of course, some feel that life, with all its pleasures and all its pains, is just how it is, and we just have to make the best of it, and take it as it comes. Some blame God for the bad things that people do, reasoning that, if God made us, then he is responsible for what we do.Some blame God as an excuse for their own sins or laziness. Some feel that there must be someone who is ultimately responsible for everything that happens, even for every random or chance event that happens. If anyone is to blame, then it can only be God, they reason. Finally, if we do indeed blame God, we should be asking ourselves, "What exactly are we blaming God for?". If we can focus on more specific facts and instances, and on the circumstances that contributed to those events, then we might find that we are better able to understand why some (if not all!) bad things happen.Of course, the whole matter hangs on the fundamental concepts/issues of 'good and evil', and of 'god' and/or the 'supernatural'. Such questions have been considered for thousands of years and, as yet, mankind has yet to come up with a universal answer that everyone can agree upon.

Why does God plague people with cancer arthritis AIDS HIV diabetes and other terrible illnesses?

Another answer from our community:God does not plague humans with diseases. Sin is the cause of disease. There are certain things that humans do that cause disease and they can be for the most part be traced to sinful practices. Many persons are in poverty, which is for the greater part attributed to bad governments etc., which is sinful. Living in filth is a breeder of disease.God is a good God and does not cause disease, but mankind has been sinful for thousands of years and all of these plagues are rampant. God has given us medicine to combat many diseases, but some are still life crippling and deadly.

How or why does murder make people turn away from God?

A:A Christian who commits a murder and does not repent, is considered to have turned away from God. Others who are affected by the murder are reminded of the Problem of Evil and Suffering: if God is all-powerful, all-knowing, all good, and the sole creator of the world, then why is there evil and suffering? The problem can only be resolved if at least one of these propositions is false. Therefore if God is all-powerful, he is either not all-knowing and is therefore unaware of all the evil in the world, or he is not all-good and is unconcerned about all the evil in the world. The consequence of this logic is that if there is a God, he is a limited and flawed God. It becomes easy to turn away from such a God.

Why could an all powerful God not create a world with free will and no evil?

WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF "GOOD" ? Our identification of EVIL only exists because we know of "GOOD" , , ,Besides one mans meat is another mans poison , what you would define as "Good" some one else might define as EVIL , simply because God has given them free will , to chose for themselves what is right and wrong. . .So basically NO!

Does God care about man?

A:If the universe was created by a God who is all-knowing, all-powerful and perfectly good, then there ought to be no evil in the world. Over the centuries, theologians have struggled with this dilemma, attempting to explain the existence of both God and evil.In philosophy, this is called the problem of evil and suffering. If God is all-powerful, all-knowing, all good, and the sole creator of the world, then why is there evil and suffering? The problem can only be resolved if at least one of these propositions is false. Therefore if God is all-powerful, he is either not all-knowing and is therefore unaware of all the evil in the world, or he is not all-good and is unconcerned about man.
