Science is not better than religion and religion is not better than science. They are two complementary fields of knowledge. Each one contributes something different to the world. Science gives knowledge of the external physical world and religion gives knowledge of the inner spiritual world. Each field has its own methods of study. Science uses the experimental method, for example. Religion uses practices such as contemplation and meditation. That is why you cannot prove God's existence with science--to study religious things, you must use the methods of religion.

Good science should be verifyable by practical observations and studying the references.

In scienific papers describing an experiment first all data about performing the experiment are given. Which instruments were used, and all treatments that were performed.


Then there is a section describing the results in which the dry figures will be published and will be subjected to statistical analysis.


Then there is a discussion part in which the performer of the experiment tries to explain the data he found using data and conclusions from related experiments and accepted theories. If necessary he will develop hypotheses when new discoveries are made. In this part the scientist will also put all references from previous publications relating to the specific statement he is making.


In all three of the previous parts mistakes can be made, but all three parts are verifiable by either repeating the experiment or by studying the papers that were referred to in the discussion part.


A problem with the references is that a mistake (like a wrong conclusion) in one article that is referred to can find its way in references in later papers.


So called "Bad Science" is caused by referring to previous mistakes or the desire to simplify matters for educational purposes and even worse for commercial or religious purposes. A Google check for "bad physics" can be an eye opener concerning misconceptions that are endlessly repeated.
