The trouble with some of the labels men give certain Bible prophecies [like, "pre-millennialism"], is that few people seem to be in agreement as to its meaning. Definitions seem to vary from person to person or group to group.
So, for the sake of this "label," we'll explore The Bible evidence based on the "Wikipedia" article:
"Premillennialism... is the belief that Jesus will literally and physically be on the earth for his millennial reign, at his second coming. The doctrine is called premillennialism because it holds that Jesus's physical return to the earth will occur prior to the inauguration of the millennium..." -- [Wikipedia].
The first prophetic evidence that Christ will return to earth and rule for the "millennium" [thousand years] may be best found at the conclusion of the Bible... in the 20th chapter of the chronologically written book, Revelation.
Chapter 19, reveals the manner in which Jesus comes back -- MAKING WAR -- ON THE NATIONS GATHERED AT ARMAGEDDON [chapter 16] TO FIGHT HIM.
"...I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness HE DOTH JUDGE and MAKE WAR... out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it HE SHOULD SMITE THE NATIONS: and He SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON..." (Rev.19:11-15).
Armageddon and the nations that will gather there are on earth... not in heaven. The "carion-eaters" He calls to feast on the flesh and blood of His enemies at the end of chapter 19, fly over the earth... not in heaven. The "Lake of Fire" and the Beast and the False Prophet [the satanic leaders of the coming Great Tribulation -- the Bible actually doesn't call either of them or anyone else: THE ANTICHRIST] will be on the earth... not in heaven.
Revelation 20, which continues chronologically following Jesus' destruction of the armies of men at Armageddon, begins with the removal of Satan from bothering the nations of the world -- FOR A THOUSAND YEARS!
"...he laid hold on the Dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and BOUND HIM A THOUSAND YEARS... that he should deceive the nations no more, till the THOUSAND YEARS should be fulfilled..." (Rev.20:2-3).
Satan was cast down to the earth way back in the beginning [Rev.12:7-9] and has been restrained from leaving it until the Judgment Day [the Last Great Day] of God's plan.
"...the angels... He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the Judgment of the Great Day." (Jude 1:6)
Satan and his angels are on the earth... not in heaven.
"...I saw thrones, and THEY sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them... and THEY LIVED AND REIGNED WITH CHRIST A THOUSAND YEARS. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. this is the FIRST RESURRECTION. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but THEY shall be PRIESTS OF GOD and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years." (Rev.20:4-6)
There is only ONE THRONE IN HEAVEN... and the Father sits on it. Not even Jesus is said to have a throne in heaven. He sits to the right of His Father. The throne that awaits Jesus is ON THE EARTH!!!
"He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God SHALL GIVE UNTO HIM THE THRONE OF HIS FATHER DAVID: and He shall reign over the House of Jacob for ever; and of His Kingdom there shall be no end." (Luke 1:32-33)
David's throne is ON THE EARTH... not in heaven.
Therefore... the thrones that John saw... the ones that Jesus promises His saints [the THEY who judge the earth-bound nations with Christ for a thousand years]... are ON EARTH, too!
Jesus Christ: "...hast made us unto our God Kings and Priests: and WE SHALL REIGN ON THE EARTH." (Rev.5:10)
So, Jesus Christ's throne is on the earth. When He gathers His saints to Himself into the clouds upon His return, He will then finish His descent upon the Mount of Olives [Zech.14] with His saints and His angelic armies and fight the battle of God Almighty at Armageddon, destroy the ability of the nations to make war, destroy the governments of man, and bind Satan.
"Behold, the Day of the Lord cometh... for I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle... Then shall the Lord go forth, and FIGHT AGAINST THOSE NATIONS... and HIS FEET SHALL STAND IN THAT DAY UPON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES, which is before Jerusalem on the east... and THE LORD MY GOD SHALL COME, and ALL THE SAINTS WITH THEE... and THE LORD SHALL BE KING OVER ALL THE EARTH: in that day there shall be one Lord, and His name One." (Zech.14:1-9)
Again... the nations are on the earth... Jesus' feet will touch down on the Mount of Olives, on the earth... and He will be King over all the earth... on the earth, where the saints will rule the Kingdom of God with Him... on the earth.
The promises of Christ to His saints are the promises He originally made to Abraham. And NOWHERE in the Bible was Abraham promised HEAVEN!
Abraham was promised "LAND."
The "PROMISED LAND" -- THE EARTH!
"And IF YE BE CHRIST'S, then are ye Abraham's seed, and HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE." (Gal.3:29)
"...the PROMISE, that he should be THE HEIR OF THE WORLD [not heaven], was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith." (Rom.4:13)
The "evidence" of "premillennialism" in the Bible goes on... but space is limited and the study is long.
AnswerAccording to Joshua chapter 3, the Jordan River was stopped, to allow the Israelites to cross. There is no extra-biblical evidence of this miraculous event.
There is no extra-biblical evidence that Jesus ascended to heaven.
Creation Today - 2011 What Is the Best Evidence for Biblical Creation 2-18 was released on: USA: 2012
The Bible talks about God and Jesus at length, and to some this is evidence. Objectively, however, it is not proof because a collection of related books can not prove itself. The biblical evidence becomes proof if the Bible tells us something about God and Jesus that we can confirm from independent, extra-biblical sources. The Bible does not provide this level of evidence.
An arkeologist is a person who attempts to search for evidence to corroborate the Biblical story of Noah's Ark.
All the evidence indicates modern man evolved from earlier apes.
A:According to the biblical account, there was a worldwide flood approximately 4350 years ago. This should be understood in the context of the evidence that the biblical flood never occurred.
Yes! In the Vatican with the rest of biblical evidence that prove that Jesus was a man and a prophet.
There is not biblical evidence that Paul murdered a partner. Nor is there any evidence that he ever journeyed to India.
AnswerTo ask whether something in the Bible is 'true' is to ask whether there is any extra-biblical evidence that directly or indirectly supports the biblical story. There is no such evidence or proof. Moreover, 1 Samuel says that the the only witness was a 'witch' who would not have been thought a reliable witness by the followers of God. It is a matter of faith whether you choose to believe the biblical account.
As a nation, like as a peoples, and as a kingdom, there's a lot of archaeological evidence as well as other nations' histories and writing evidence. Then of course there's the Bible.
