The dreamtime is part of the animistic faith of Australian aborigines, and is largely based on spirits that inhabit everyday objects in the environment. Although some details can not bedivulged to outsiders, there does appear to have been a great spirit in the sky. There does not seem to be a clear dividing line between the spirits of animism and the gods of later faiths.
