The expression living in "the here and now" simply means living in the present, not obsessing about the past but possibly learning from the mistakes of the past; It also means not trying to predict what the future may hold. If one does either of these, the present becomes static with no progress being made. As far as I know there is no particular symbol to represent "here and now".
