No affirmative action is morally defensible.
Basically, strong affirmative action is openly using race or gender or disability, etc. as a determining factor in employment, acceptance, etc. Like when a college gives someone extra points towards an acceptance decision for being Latino. Weak affirmative action is not openly using it as a determining factor, but giving social support to those who might be discriminated against. This would be a social program that provides tutors to black students, or scholarships that only females can get. This is not a legal action, but a social one.
