Intercession on the Day of Judgment

It is a very important question and Quran gives a very comprehensive answer to this question.

Here is the summary:

1: The Day of Judgment is a Day when no one will have the power to do anything for another. Judgment on that Day will wholly rest with Allah.

2: Intercession on that Day is wholly in the power of Allah.

3: That is a Day when none could speak except the one whom the Merciful may permit, and who speaks what is right.

4: On that Day no intercession will avail except the one for whom the most Merciful has given permission (to intercede) and be pleased to give him a hearing. (Because) He is fully aware of all that is before the people and of all that is behind them but others do not have full knowledge of it.

Here is a very nice collection of almost all the verses of Quran on this topic.
