According to the Hebrew Scriptures, the ancient Israelites were divided into twelve tribes, divided among 10 sons of Jacob and 2 sons of Joseph (the tribe of Levi, being the priestly tribe, was exempt from owning land).
The tribes are as follows:
Reuben
Simeon
Levi - (Priestly tribe, not counted among the 12)
Judah
Dan
Naphtali
Gad
Asher
Issachar
Zebulun
Ephraim - (son of Joseph, the son of Jacob)
Manasseh
They were organized into 12 tribes.
The Hebrews were nomadic people organized in tribes
Twelve.
The 10 tribes of the Hebrews are known as the lost tribes because no one knows what happened to them.
According to The Bible there were 12 Hebrew tribes.(Genesis 49:1-28) Jacob fathered 12 sons and each became the paternal head of a family. These families became the 12 tribes of Israel (the Hebrews).

They're not different. Hebrews referred to the 12 tribes of Israel. Descendents of one of those tribes, the tribe of Judah, are called Jews. So Jews ARE Hebrews, only the term is Hebrew is only used today to refer to the language of Hebrew.
The bedouins were organized into tribes, and the name of the tribe derived from an ancestor.
Abraham, his son Isaac and his grandson Jacob were Hebrews. Jacob took or was given the name Israel. His descendants called themselves the Children of Israel, or Israelites. They were still Hebrews. The Judaites were one of the Israelite tribes. Later, the kingdom of Judah was the last surviving Israelite kingdom, and the survivors of that kingdom, all of them Israelites and Hebrews, came to be known as Jews.
