Update: This information is, with all due respect, incorrect. The first part of that belongs to Ecclesiastes 9:11, the second part of that can be found in the New Testament, and is part of a direct quote from Yashua haMashiach (Jesus Christ) found in Matthew 24:13, as well as two other scriptures, one in Matthew, and one in Mark. In those three NT scriptures, Jesus makes it clear who shall be saved.

Time and chance. Wisdom cannot guarantee good outcomes in life because of what appear to be so many unpredictable contingencies.

If we strive to follow God, we are told that, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28).

What ever we go through God is using that to make us more like His dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and that is what we strive for.

And for the Christian enduring to the end will guarantee eternal life in heaven.

This is worth whatever we face in this life.
