A miracle is an extraordinary event attributed to some supernatural agency, such as God.

An example of a miracle is Hermes walking on water in the Homeric epic, the Iliad. Another example of a miracle is Jesus walking on water in the gospels.

Many miracles involve curing the sick or raising persons from the dead. In recent times, the Catholic Church has claimed to document many miracles needed to canonise new saints, mostly involving cancer cures. It seems that no matter how common these miraculous cures are, people are no longer raised from the dead.
