Initially it was Paul and Barnabas and Silas, but Barnabas wanted to bring John Mark, but Paul said no because John Mark had left them earlier. So Barnabas left with John Mark and Paul and Silas continued on. Timothy joins them later and Luke is also there.
Paul Silas's birth name is Paul Theron Silas.
Silas was Pauls' companion on this journey as well as Timothy. Aquila and Priscilla went with him as far as Ephesus.

Paul, Silas, and Timothy found temporary refuge in the city of Berea after facing hostility from the Thessalonians. In Berea, they were able to preach the gospel to a more receptive audience, as the Bereans examined the Scriptures daily to verify their teachings. This provided a brief respite from the opposition they encountered in Thessalonica.
The circumcision of Timothy was done to aid in his acceptance by the Jews and provide full access to the synagogues he would be visiting with Paul and Silas. Timothy's mother was a Jew and his father was Gentile.
Paul Silas was born on July 12, 1943.
We are told in Acts 16:1-3 that Timothy's mother was a Jew and his father was a Greek. Timothy was to be a great asset to Paul's ministry and so Paul circumcised Timothy. Why? This was done to aid Timothy's acceptance by the Jews and provide full access to the Synagogues he would be visiting with Paul and Silas. If Timothy had not been circumcised, the Jews could have assumed he had renounced his Jewish heritage and had chosen to live as a Gentile. His being one-half Jewish was important.
Several different fellow-workers accompanied Paul at various times, including Barnabas, John Mark, Silas, Timothy, Titus, Luke, and an unspecified number of others.
