Yes, and a youngish one, which is why Paul wrote to him several times with advice - these along with other letters are called the pastoral epistles.
CORRECTION: Sorry, but this is not correct. Timothy was NOT a pastor. Although he had pastoral gifts for caring for and counseling people, he was actually an apostolic worker sent by Paul to help navigate the church through difficult seasons of growth and maturity. He was sent as an apostolic representative of the ministry of Paul for the specific purpose of helping the church to function properly.
There is no example in all of the New Testament of the modern day "do everything" pastor.
I agree and I might add that church polity in this day came from the reformation churches which came from the roman catholic church. This system is called the monarchial system. The system was created for individuals who wanted power
as the so called man of GOD. In the book of 3 John 1:9 is the only example of a
single leader over a group of people, today we call this type of individual a dictator.
check him out at his new church called Redemption Church in San Diego and also pastoring a church in Atlanta.
First of all Timothy was never a apostle, you can call him a student of Paul, who was a apostle.
Pastor of a church in Massillon Ohio, using his talents for the Lord!
No, there has never been a Pope Timothy.
A:Burton L. Mack (Who Wrote the New Testament) says that the attribution to Paul of the epistles to Timothy (1 Timothy, 2 Timothy) is clearly fictional, for their language, style and thought are thoroughly un-Pauline. This is the consensus view of most New Testament scholars. The two letters, as well as the Epistle to Titus were written at different times, undoubtedly during the first half of the second century, as demonstrated by references to the role of bishops, who begin to appear early in the second century. Their content fits nicely into the situation and thought of the church in the mid-second century. The epistles were not included in Marcion's list of Paul's letters (ca 140 CE), and quotations first appear in lrenaeus'Against Heresies, dated about 180 CE.We do not know who wrote the two Epistles to Timothy, or where they were written, but they were written long after Paul's lifetime.A:Paul's location while writing 1 Timothy is unknown. 2 Timothy is thought to have been written from a prison in Rome during Paul's final imprisonment. John MacArthur says in his Study Bible on Timothy that The evidence seems clear that Paul wrote 1Timothy and Titus shortly after his release from his first Roman imprisonment (ca. 62-64AD) and 2Timothy from prison during his second Roman imprisonment (ca. 66-67AD) shortly before his death.Paul wrote 2Timothy from somewhere in Macedonia but it is not known exactly where...

Toni L. Russell, the daughter of Leon C. and Lela (Ervin) Russell, born December 15, 1968, Corsicana Texas, first inquired to used the term "First Lady" in regards to her Pastor's Wife, Berdie Johnson who was married to the church's pastor, Elder A.Z. Johnson. The church was called Johnson Memorial Church of God in Christ. Toni, a sixth grader, had had her fill of the term "pastor's wife", as it did not justify her vision of the true manner that embodied her Pastor's Wife. Toni inquired the services of the church missionary, Ima Lois Lampkin, a high school math teacher, to petition the Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) Headquarters to ask permission. She was thrilled to hear the term used in the Pastor and Wife Anniversary a few months later. After being approved, Sister Rosie Williams, a member of the church, called Sister Berdie the first lady, as she was speaking on the wife of the pastor at the Pastor's Anniversary. Sister Williams looked at the child when she first used it, as it had never been used ever before in that capacity. The child silently acknowledge that headquarters had given permission and after the service spoke with her mother that it had been approved.Today churches all over America now use the term without knowing that it originated from the mind of a small girl, who simply desired to call her Pastor's Wife, the only name at her disposal that reflected her Pastor's Wife spirit. No, there has not been a Hurricane Timothy in recorded history. The closest name would be Hurricane Tim, which occurred in 2000.
the Seventh Day Adventist Church on a whole is not political, we mainly stay out of politics. I've never heard of a Pastor ever speaking about supporting a candidate because the whole idea is very foreign.. Adventists are not like a lot of other Christians in that way. However, if there is a Pastor doing so I would think it would be greatly frowned upon, we are very much for separation of church and state.
Yes. Their father is a pastor, and they would sing in the church choir.
