The book of Genesis didn't say whether or not polar bears [Ursus maritimus] were included on the ark. It just made a general reference to at least one female and one male each of every breathing, living species.

The oldest polar bear fossil is no more than 100,000 years old. There's evidence of a worldwide flood sometime between 4000 B.C.E. and 2800 B.C.E. So polar bears may have been included on the ark if indeed every breathing, living species was represented on board.
