When the dinosaurs roamed the earth, they ruled the earth, and were almost the only form of land animal in existence. There were vegetarian dinosaurs and meat-eating dinosaurs, all ranging in size from the relatively insignificant up to the largest land animals ever to live. Had there been humans around at the time, it would have been a dramatically dangerous place to live. Fortunately for us, the last of the dinosaurs died out in a great extinction around 65 million years ago.

Theologians like James Ussher can calculate exactly when the world was created, and therefore when the Garden of Eden existed in biblical terms - approximately six thousand years ago. However, Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis) says that the Garden of Eden is a purely mythic place - a mere Utopia, in which case it does not really stand in any place or time in the real world. so, either the Garden of Eden was far too late for dinosaurs, or there was really no Garden of Eden at all. Either way, there were no dinosaurs.

The Bible doesn't specify what animals were in the Garden of Eden. It also doesn't say how big the garden was, but it wasn't a huge place. There was a whole world outside of the garden. But all anyone can do is speculate on prehistoric things that aren't mentioned in The Bible.

Incidentally, the book of Job is the earliest book written, and it mentions dinosaurs--though it doesn't use that word, because that is a recent word.

And another:

According to the Genesis account, an undisclosed period of time elapsed between the original creation of the universe and the earth [Gen.1:1]... and the time that something caused the earth to become ruined [verse 2].

The account then takes up in verse 3 with the six-day RE-creation of the earth, repairing and preparing it to support and sustain man who was made on the sixth day.

The greatest likelihood is that "dinosaurs" populated the original creation of the earth and were destroyed during the devastation revealed in "verse 2."

The land animals that crossed the flood with Noah are the same species extant on the earth today.... none of which are the famed fossilized "dinosaurs" with which modern man seems to be so obsessed and knowledgeable.
