There are so many reasons why a person may be negative, that is why our first reflex is to be a good listener, just the way Jesus was with people in general.

The Sermon on the Mount in a good example the way Jesus helped people to see what it takes to be happy. Read Matthew 5: 3-11. At the beginning of each verse is the word " Happy is" which is the guaranty that can help any negative person, because it comes from Jesus' teaching, if put into practice.

The qualities that are emphazised are mild-tempered, merciful, being pure in heart, peacemakers. Psalms 1: 1 reads. " Happy is the man/woman who does not walk according to the advice of the wicked and does not stand on the path of sinners etc..

Verse 2 reads. " But his/her delight is in the law of Jehovah God, and he/she reads the law of Jehovah God day and night.

The first step to take that brings hapiness, is to meditate on positive things. By reading The Bible daily, he/she will get to know Jehovah God's way of thinking, which will help him/her to think clearly and to reason well, which is the promise given in Proverbs 1: 3,4.

The Bible is a letter from God, and beneficial for our teaching and setting things straight, according to 2 Timothy 3: 16,17.

Jeremiah 10: 23 reminds us that it does not belong to man/woman to direct his/her step.
