When Jesus sent out his disciples on their mission, he instructed them to preach the gospel, heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, and drive out demons. He also told them to travel light, rely on the hospitality of others, and shake off any rejection they faced.

Jesus didn't give the commandments to his disciples. God gave the commandments to Moses this is recorded in the Old Testament. Jesus did tell his disciples that basically there are only two commandments: 1. Love the LORD your God. 2. Love your neighbour as yourself.

Jesus and his disciples were gathered together, and He empowered them to heal and cast out demons. He then gave them various instructions about how to conduct themselves and what they should preach. Among these instructions was the directive to preach to the Jewish people and to not be concerned about taking provisions as they would be looked after. Jesus also assured them that the Spirit would give them the words to say on God's behalf. He outlined the hardships and persecutions they may experience because of the work they were undertaking and offered encouragement for these times.
During the Last Supper when Jesus shared the bread and the wine He said, "As often as you do this, do so in rememberence of Me."
