The prophet Jeremiah wrote Lamentations as well.
Jeremiah was called the weeping prophet because he often expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sins and impending destruction of his people, the Israelites. His prophecies were filled with lamentation and sadness, earning him the nickname "the weeping prophet."
The Book of Lamentations (attributed to the Prophet Jeremiah) is in the 'Ketuvim' part of the Bible - also called the 'Writings or Hagiographa' and not in the Prophets section.
