Jesus was born to show us the way to live good lives and eventually go to live in Heaven with God. Very basically Jesus taught that we would find peace through love ie love of each other so that we would respect each other's rights. If we succeed in this there would be no more war, no more disease, poverty or any of the many ills that can afflict people and cause them to be jealous of one another. Jesus died on a cross, was buried and rose again to ascend to Heaven. Before He died He told his disciples to go to the four corners of the world to preach his message of peace. Thereby Christianity was born. Oh, I should mention "Christ" means a deliverer or redeemer, which is what the Hebrew nation was waiting for.
