Because it was the birthplace of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam and they were discovered as one religion. Over time people found their differences and went their separate ways.
The three Abrahamic faiths; Islam, Judaism, and Christianity have very similar religious beliefs. They all have roots from the "Father of the Faith" Abraham. They are strictly monotheistic faiths and worship the same God in different ways. Please see the link for article.
Believe in one god.
Both believe in Heaven and HellBoth believe their religion is the only truthBoth recognize Jesus (though in very different ways)Judaism has none of these beliefs.
A:Islam accepts the prophets of Judaism, as well as Christianity's John the Baptist. Of course, only Islam teaches that Muhammad was the last prophet of God. Early Muslims accepted the Old Testament view that Abraham was told to sacrifice Isaac, but the consensus of later Islamic scholars is that it must have been Ishmael whom Abraham was to kill. This encouraged suspicion among Muslims that the Jews altered their own holy books to glorify Judaism. In most ways, Islam is more similar to Christianity than to Judaism. For example, Islam shares with Christianity a belief in hell and a belief that Satan is the evil adversary of God.Islam believes that Jesus had a divine role. Although not divine himself, Jesus was one of the great prophets, a view not shared by Judaism. The consequence of this belief is that Islam is closer to Judaism in one respect - they are both more strongly monotheistic than Christianity because of Christianity's belief in the divinity of Jesus (and of the Holy Spirit).Unique to Islam among the Abraham religions is belief in jinn. These were pre-Islamic spirits that are mostly evil but can be good.
Protestantism is part a type of Christianity, though Christianity and Islam are in some ways, similar. The main difference is about Jesus (Muslims believe is a prophet, not the Son of God, like in Christianity). Protestantism believes in simplicity and, in some ways, so does Islam. However, Muslim mosques are quite elaborate, whereas in Protestantism, they are very plain.
Christianity is unique because it requires belief in Jesus Christ as divine and as Saviour who died for the sins of mankind and rose from the grave. The Bible contains the same scripture that Judaism uses because the God of Judaism is the same as the God of Christianity. The two diverge at the point of identifying Jesus as the awaited Messiah and the teachings He brought which differed somewhat to the practises Judaism had adopted. Allah in Islam is not the same as the God of the Bible, having quite different characteristics. The New Testament which is the essence of Christianity is not followed by any other religion.
Islam arose in southern Arabia, in a mixed milieu of paganism, Christianity and Judaism, and took on some aspects of each. The dominant influence is from Christianity, but Judaism has also hod a direct influence. The form of Christianity dominant in the Middle East in the seventh century was Nestorianism, which is in some ways a little different from what is now mainstream Christianity, and so the relationship is sometimes less easy to discern for someone unfamiliar with early forms of Christianity.
Judaism, Islam, and Christianity are seen as the three major monotheistic religions in the world. This can be argued, though. Some people believe that Christianity believes in three gods that form one being. Others believe that Christianity has two gods, God and the Devil. Sometimes Islam and Judaism are not seen as perfectly monotheistic. Actually, a common misconception is that Hinduism is polytheistic. Hinduism believes in one almighty God that expresses himself in different ways. This can be compared to the Abrahamic religions, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. God sometimes is called different names in these religions depending on what the Lord is doing. God the defender, God the powerful, God the great, God the merciful, God the creator. All of these are referring to God, but they specify what God is doing. In Hinduism God is everywhere and in everything. God is too mighty to be understood, so when God does different things, God is seen differently. In conclusion, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, and Christianity can all be seen as monotheistic religions. If you do not understand any of what I said, simply stick to the Abrahamic religions and say Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.
