Divine religions believe that man and a divine god communicate, literally speak to, someone that created them. A non-devine religion is one that does not believe in the ability of humans to talk to someone who created them. Part of the difference is the between someONE and somethingTHING. A Unitarian Universalist is someone who does not believe in the divine, but that the universe itself with its natural laws is the ultimate someTHING and that humans cannot have a conversation with this someTHING. Protestants, Mormons, Catholics, Muslims, Buddhists, etc. see themselves as separate from god. There is some mysticism in the devine belief.
