King Solomon was able to understand the languages of the birds and of some other creatures like the Ants. In addition, He was able also to communicate with the birds. This is not mentioned in The Bible which says that King Solomon loved many foreign women; He had seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines! His women (1000) led him astray; and turned his heart after other gods!! ……….. Allah gave knowledge, understanding and wisdom through prophet hood and decisive judgment between people unto King David and King Solomon, and both of them said: Praise be to Allah; thanks and gratitude to Allah, Who has above many of His believing servants! Indeed, Allah has favored King Solomon with prophet hood and the disposal of jinn, humans and devils to his service, over many of His believing servants'. Moreover, Allah gave King Solomon the knowledge of the speech of birds and of other creatures like the Jinn and the Ants! In other words, King Solomon was able to understand the languages of the birds and of some other creatures. In addition, King Solomon was able also to communicate with the birds like the Hoopoe. And Solomon was David's heir as king instead of all the other sons of David who were many. King Solomon did not deny all of Allah's gifts to him. He said: Lo! Allah has taught me, has given me the understanding of the languages of birds, has been given me abundance of all things and has given me the knowledge of everything in my kingdom. This surely is great evident favor and this is indeed a great blessing from Allah. It follows that King Solomon is the first man on the earth who was able to understand the Languages of the Birds. Chapter 27:15-16 15] QARIB: we gave knowledge to David and Solomon. They said: 'praise be to Allah who has preferred us above many of his believing worshipers. ' SHAKIR: and certainly we gave knowledge to David and Solomon, and they both said: praise be to Allah, who has made us to excel many of his believing servants PICKTHAL: and we verily gave knowledge unto David and Solomon, and they said: praise be to Allah, who hath preferred us above many of his believing slaves! YUSUFALI: we gave knowledge to David and Solomon: and they both said: "praise be to Allah, who has favored us above many of his servants who believe!" 16] QARIB: Solomon inherited David. He said: 'know, my people, we have been taught the speech of birds and given everything. Surely, this is a clear bounty. ' SHAKIR: and Solomon was David's heir and he said: o men! we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given all things; most surely this is manifest grace PICKTHAL: and Solomon was David's heir. And he said: o mankind! lo! We have been taught the language of birds, and have been given (abundance) of all things. This surely is evident favor. YUSUFALI: and Solomon was David's heir. He said: "o ye people! We have been taught the speech of birds and on us has been bestowed (a little) of all things: this is indeed grace manifest (from Allah.)"

The hosts of King Solomon were the Jinn, man, and the birds. The Jinn are invisible creatures. King Solomon used to have power over the Jinn. He could see them, talk to them and command them to do stuff for him!

The following verse talks about that on one journey, Solomon's hosts of the Jinn, of the humankind, and of the birds were all retained from the first to the last until they were gathered together and they stood assembled for him as they were being arrayed, brought together in groups and marshaled. This verse indicates that King Solomon had a unique Hosts and Army forces. His Hosts were a collection of three different creatures, which all together were well trained and know their duty perfectly! The verse also illustrates that Solomon's hosts were very well organized and obedient. This is due to the fact that King Solomon was very strict and firm! Surah (Chapter) 27:17 QARIB: we gathered to Solomon his army of jinn, humans and birds; gathered and dispersed, SHAKIR: and his hosts of the jinn and the men and the birds were gathered to him, and they were formed into groups PICKTHAL: and there were gathered together unto Solomon his armies of the jinn and humankind, and of the birds, and they were set in battle order; YUSUFALI: and before Solomon were marshaled his hosts, - of jinn and men and birds, and they were all kept in order and ranks.

King Solomon was King David's son. He was born about 1,000 B.C. He ruled over the Kingdom of Israel. He was the last King to rule over the Kingdom of Israel before the Northern and Southern kingdoms split. King Solomon ruled Israel for 40 years. He also built the first temple in Jerusalem. Solomon was also very wise.

A:2 Samuel 12:24 tells us that Solomon was born to King David and Bathsheba. Later, as King David lay dying, 1 Kings says he forestalled intrigue over the succession by having Solomon anointed king, using oil from the tabernacle. However, Chronicles gives different circumstances and an entirely different reason for David anointing Solomon to succeed him.

The greatest single achievement attributed in the Bible to Solomon was the construction of his Temple, which took seven years to build.

The defining legend of Solomon was his great wisdom, gifted to him by God. If there really was a King Solomon, the Bible says that he was the wisest of kings. However, finding specific biblical examples of his wisdom proves difficult.

Solomon was certainly not wise when he first succeeded David. At 1Kings 1:52, he said that he would not harm Adonijah as long as he showed himself a worthy man. However, in chapter 2, he ordered the death of Adonijah merely because he sought Solomon's approval to marry a woman. He punished the priest Abiathar, who had previously helped Adonijah, and Joab who did not, although he later befriended him. Then he ordered Shimei, who had not been allied with Adonijah, never to leave Jerusalem. Afterwards, Shimei briefly left Jerusalem to recapture and bring back his slaves, so Solomon had him killed. Solomon has demonstrated his lack of good judgement, as a foil for the qualities he would soon display.

Shortly after this, Solomon, in a dream, asked God for wisdom. Soon after God granted Solomon wisdom, two women asked for judgement over the ownership of a small baby. In this episode, Solomon gave his most famous judgement, the only biblical example of his great wisdom. Solomon, with his profound wisdom, just knew that only one woman would be willing to give up her claim to the child rather than have it killed. Whether the insight this passage describes was really wise can be a matter for our own judgement.

According to the Bible, Solomon demonstrated no political wisdom, nor even sufficient common sense to govern wisely in the interests of his own son's succession to the throne of the United Monarchy. The Bible tells us that Solomon's reckless spending and swingeing taxes, maintained by his son, were the cause of the breakup of the United Monarchy. In spite of his supposedly personal knowledge of God, 1 Kings chapter 11 says that he unwisely began to worship other gods.

The biblical evidence shows Solomon not to have been a wise ruler, either before or after the gift of wisdom, but Jewish tradition has built up an image of Solomon as a great and wise ruler. Psalms that show any evidence of wisdom have been attributed to him, as have the wisdom books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. The Jewish people needed a glorious past, with both great and wise rulers. Solomon became part of that past. So, although not actually a wise ruler on the biblical evidence, he was a wise ruler in tradition.
