Hebrews and Zoroastrianism share several similarities, particularly in their monotheistic beliefs and ethical teachings. Both traditions emphasize the importance of a moral life, with concepts of good and evil central to their teachings. Additionally, both religions include eschatological views, with notions of judgment after death and a final battle between good and evil forces. Furthermore, the influence of Zoroastrianism can be seen in certain Hebrew texts, particularly regarding themes of dualism and the afterlife.
explain the development of monotheism be sure include the Hebrews and the Zoroastrianism.
No. No native American tribes share genetic similarities to Hebrews.
There are many similarities between Christianity and Zoroastrianism, but also some differences.Christians believe in God, whereas followers of Zoroastrianism believe in Ahura Mazda .In Christianity, Jesus has already come, born of a virgin. In Zoroastrianism, the Saoshyant is yet to come, and will be born of a virgin. Both will fight evil at the end times.Fire is sacred in Zoroastrianism, but not in Christianity. Orthodox followers of Zoroastrianism prefer neither to bury their dead in the sacred ground, nor cremate them.
Zoroastrianism appears to have held motheism before Judaism, but it is *very* disputed exactly when monotheism developed in the Abrahamic religions.
I think this is just too big a question for me. I will say that within each of these traditions there isn't one simple explanation to compare with the simple explanations in the other traditions.
Some scholars, including Mary Boyce, Professor Emerita of Iranian Studies at University of London, conclude that Zoroastrianism began in southern Russia, the area from the Iranian people of today emigrated. Others say that Zoroastrianism may have originated in central Asia, perhaps in Afghanistan. I find the southern Russia origin more persuasive, not only because the Iranian people originated there, and therefore could have brought the religion with them into eastern Iran, but because of similarities between Zoroastrianism and Hinduism, which could also have originated in southern Russia. Zoroastrianism did not reach the Medes and Persians of western Iran until around the eighth century BCE, leading some to believe that the religion originated there.
Judaism, along with Zoroastrianism, was monotheistic. The Hebrews believed that there was just one God. All prior religions had been polytheistic, which meant they believed in many gods.
All three religions are based on sacred texts that explain the relationship between humans and gods.
Zoroastrianism is religion
Yes. Some Hebrews (a small minority) do.
The Hebrews may have been the first monotheists in the Western world, but in Egypt there was the Aton cult of Pharaoh Akhenaton and Hinduism in some ways is monotheistic.
Zoroastrianism was started by Zarathustra, aka Zoroaster.
