In Buddhism there are no gods per se. There are those people that have attained enlightenment and are examples for others. They are known as bodhisatta or in the more common Sanskrit, bodhisattva. These are beings striving for Awakening; the term used to describe the Buddha before he actually become Buddha, from his first aspiration to Buddhahood until the time of his full Awakening. Since Buddhism is a philosophy of ending suffering and not strictly a religion, belief in god(s) is not contingent. However, in some cases, Buddhism has combined with a local existing religion; like in Japan where Buddhism combined with Shintoism to make Zen Buddhism. In China, Buddhism has various manifestations since it has organically combined with specific regional religions.

There is no god in Buddhism. We do not believe in any immortal, all power gods.

They do have non-creator deities, known as bodhisattvas. One of the most important is Avalokiteshvara.

^The bodhisattvas are only revered in Mahayana Buddhism. Elsewhere, they are considered metaphorical embodiments of the qualities of the Buddha and the noble spirit. The first answer is correct.

Technically, Buddhism has no deities. However, in various countries where Buddhism is practiced, people have added their own deities and combined them with their practice; this varies by country.

Buddhism has many "deities" or Yidams, especially in Tibetan Buddhism where the highest form of Buddhist meditation practice is called Vajrayana or Tatrayana. To be considered a Buddhist one has to take refuge in the three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma and Sangha) and adhere to the Four Noble Truths and Noble Eightfold Path. Buddhist deities are not to be viewed in a polytheistic way, like many believe but are seen simply as emanations of the original Buddha. Each deity has it's own specific mantra and meditation which according to Tibetan Buddhism helps in attaining enlightenment. Mindfulness, Compassion and Loving-Kindness are the main emphasis and all the various meditation deities along with their mantras as emanations of Buddha are meant to help the practitioner to fully realize the Buddha's teachings. In Vajrayana there is a meditation practice of generating oneself as the deity, this is explained as a means to help overcome deluded ideas about reality, realize ones mind and thus start the process to full enlightenment. Buddhism emphasizes the importance of strengthening the mind. Buddha actually said "When you realize your own mind you become a Buddha".

In a sense. In Tibetan Buddhism especially it's easy to consider the treatment of Bodhisattvas and Buddhas (enlightened beings) as "worship", but it is very different from the western idea of this.

These beings are always treated with reverence, but it is taught that fundamentally, we are no different from the Buddhas, all things are indeed one, but in our unrealized state we still perceive inherent separation between things (such as the separation between oneself and a Buddha), rather than seeing all things as different and unique waves in the same ocean.

So the Buddha Shakyamuni (this world's Buddha) is not a god from a different realm, but rather a normal human who perfected his spiritual practice until his mind opened completely (enlightenment), and then taught what he had learned.

The Buddha himself actually never denied nor confirmed the existence of God/s. He basically said that there was no way we would know by intellectual debate, and that we should simply try to perfect ourselves regardless.

It's really a hard question to answer without taking some time to explain Buddhism in greater detail, but I hope I helped.

There is no God in Buddhism. The Buddha did not talk about God or Gods since it was not what The Buddha was trying to solve. The Buddha was trying to solve why people are unhappy and unsatisfied with life, which has been mistranslated to as Suffering.

Is Buddhism montheistic?

Henotheism is the belief that there may be many gods but one is worthy of worship. Buddhism neither endorses or condemns the belief in deities but holds that they (if they exist) need not be worshiped and have no control for good or evil over humans. A person's progress towards enlightenment is their own struggle. In this manner Buddhism is not henotheistic.
