God is God Almighty, and god is a pagan god. (Athena, Zeus, etc.)

In the ancient languages in which The Bible was originally written, there were no 'capital' letters. There was no punctuation. Some English words don't even have an equivilant in ancient Hebrew or Greek; and vica verca.

Therefore when translating into English, it involves some translating skills.

The Hebrew word for god, transliterated into English letters is: 'el'. It simply means 'mighty one' or 'strong one'. Therefore the term is applied to anyone who is mighty or strong.

When we are referring to Jehovah, the Creator, the Almighty; we use a 'capital' G.

When we refer to other 'mighty ones', we use a small g.

Since Jesus is a 'mighty one' but is NOT Jehovah; a small g is appropriate.

Angels are also called 'gods' in the Bible; but they are not the same as Jehovah.

Likewise even humans are called 'gods' in the Bible; but they are obviously not the same as Jehovah.

You will notice the same with the word for 'Lord' and 'lord'.
