The hard and fast "No meat on Friday" abstinence rule is a thing of the past.

When the document lifting the requirement was issued by Pope Paul VI, the Newspapers did not carry the entire explanation, nor was it forthcoming from the pulpit. The spirit of the document was: We should not abstain / fast unthinkingly, but with a firm understanding of why we are doing what we are doing. We may exempt ourselves from the abstinence rule if we were to

pray prayers for those who we would not normally pray for

perform an extra act of charity or kindness that we would not normally perform.

If these were not accomplished, we were bound to keep the fast / abstinence rules, under pain of sin. BUT, as that was never explained, don't worry about it.

To the best of our collective knowledge, there is no "green leaves associated with Catholics as food" (leaving aside the fact that there are no "Roman Catholics" unless you are using Roman to refer to Latin rite Catholics, and all of us are Latin rite Catholics and we never heard of such a thing.)

What are the key differences between Anglican Catholic and Roman Catholic beliefs and practices?

Anglican Catholics and Roman Catholics share many beliefs and practices, such as the belief in the Trinity and the sacraments. However, key differences include the role of the Pope, the understanding of the Eucharist, and the view on the authority of tradition. Anglican Catholics do not recognize the Pope as the head of the Church, have a more symbolic view of the Eucharist, and place a greater emphasis on scripture over tradition.
