Religion by it's very nature has no connection with reality. While the existence of a religion or belief is real and while some of the things that take place in religious stories may be based on real happenings. Take for instance the The flooding of the whole earth with all the craetures of the earh being represented on an ark is obviously a distortion of a local event with the reasons for the event being attributed to a supernatural cause by the imagination of the writer of the event.

The reason for the conception of Jesus Christ has no connection with reality.

ANSWER:

All Scripture is inspired by God and is for the benefit of mankind. The Jews were commanded by God to preserved the OT writings which are called the 'Oracles of God' for all to read and learn from - not having to repeat the errors of those in the past.

Scoffers who pick and chose a story to belittle or call impossible have had their minds 'infected' by evolutionary ideas. Take the above calling Noah's Flood not being universal and the need for all creatures shows this. A simple google search of the Flood will give pro and con on the topic. There is evidence of a worldwide event - here in the USA's Grand Canyon for one. The so-called 'geologic column' is not universal as it is sold to be. The Genesis account is specific to the KINDS of animals to take on board. Read the story in the 6th chapter, verses 17-20 closely and discover the following:

Even a cursory reading of the sixth chapter of Genesis will reveal some often overlooked, but very important details. The Bible nowhere states that Noah had to take on board the ark representatives of every living creature. There were three requirements for the animals to be loaded on the ark. They had to be:

  • Air-breathing.
  • Terrestrial (land-dwelling).
  • Of the same biblical kind.

Read this early account: "And behold, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die . . . And of every living thing of all flesh you shall bring two of every sort into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. Of the birds after their kind, of animals after their kind (Genesis 6:17-20).

The Ark was more than large enough to support as it was the size of a WWII Cruiser being at least 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high with the smallest assumption of what a cubit was then. The ark did not need to carry every species (possibly numbering in the millions) of animal. The ark was designed to carry only every biblical kind (numbering in the few thousands) of terrestrial, air-breathing animals.

There is much more but you can search it out for yourself. Approach the Scripture with an open mind, humbly, and praying for understanding. Always let the Bible interpret itself and read the full context to get the correct picture. You and you alone are responsible for your Salvation. Its in your park :)
