What are the role of youth in the church?

Youth can do so much in a church. They can volunteer to work with children in a million different ways. Also reaching out to people close to their own age who walk through the doors that adults just couldn't identify with. Youth are important!

The role of youth in the church is the same as adults. All believers are called to the same mission: glorifying God and spreading His gospel. Youth, of course, are still learning many concepts of the Christian faith, therefore education is very important, but that does not mean that they are excluded to the calling that all Christians are.

As everyone in the church is to serve as a part of the body of Christ, youth play no lesser a role than elders in the community. 1 Timothy 4:12 states, "Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity." (NLT) The youth are to live to a standard similar to that of any other in the church community. The role of the youth in the church is to serve, stand strong in faith, shine the light of Christ, and to go out to the world with the Good News, through words and actions.
