The main differences are: - a Masjed does not have any images of people, animals, or deities while a Church will usually have an image of Christ (or even saints if the Church is Catholic or Orthodox) - if a Masjed has decorated windows they are usually geometrical designs or sayings while in a Church windows may be decorated with images of Christ, Mary or saints. - in a Masjed, worshippers generally sit on the carpet, rather than on chairs (although there are usually a few chairs for those who can't pray while standing or follow praying steps) while a Church usually has seats (called pews) for everyone. - in a Masjed the focal point is where the Qur'an will be read while in a Church the focal point is usually the altar/communion table.
