Strengths- One of King Saul's strengths were probably that he was able to fight. He was also a great leader and warrior.

Weaknesses- He had a problem with disobedience and envy. He was a liar and a murderer.

As everyone knows he was the smartest king, but he had a few faults that we can't be the ones to judge. We do know he had too many horses, way too many wives, and he didn't rebuke his wives for worshipping idols, but he still was the smartest king.

1) He suspected David of endangering his (Saul's) power.

2) He had the kohanim of Nob killed, since they were accused of helping David.

3) At one point he didn't wait for Samuel to come to him, after Samuel had told him to wait.

4) He sought the counsel of someone who communicated with the dead.

5) He allowed the king of the Amalekites to live, after having been commanded by Samuel not to spare the Amalekites in battle.

6) He promised to have David marry Michal (Saul's daughter) but then had another man marry her.
