Matthew 26:69-75 1) A servant girl came upon him saying that he (Simon Peter) was with Jesus, But he denied it before all of them (Matt 26:69-70) 2) Afterwards, another girl noticed him and said he was with Jesus, and again he denied it before them with an oath (Matt 26:71-72) 3) People standing around confronted Simon Peter and said that he must have been traveling with Jesus because he had the same dialect, Again he denied it with a curse and swear. (Matt 26:73-74)
In "Lord of the Flies," Simon shares many of Jesus' qualities. He's in tune with the feelings of others. When Ralph is depressed, Simon assures him he will get back to civilization. Like Jesus, he is able to separate truth from fallacy and is the first to know the beast lies within the boys. The Pharisees believed Jesus to be a fraud, as do the boys with Simon, who they believe is "odd." Like Jesus, Simon is killed for his ideals.
The very life of Jesus, the preaching of Jesus, the written works themselves.
In the gospel accounts, especially the earliest gospel, the Gospel of Mark, it is difficult to find any strengths of Simon Peter. He is portrayed as impetuous and constantly unable to understand, and his faith is inadequate. Despite his strongest assertion that even if he had to die with Jesus he would never deny him, Peter deserted Jesus and later denied Jesus three times. Nevertheless, Matthew's Gospel has Peter finally emerge as the pre-eminent leader of the twelve, cast as the disciple Jesus selected to carry on his work. In Acts of the Apostles, Peter is represented quite differently. Here he is portrayed as a great leader, orator, miracle worker and intermediary to God, in many ways an equal to Jesus.

Yes. This apostle of Jesus Christ is named in four other different ways in the Scriptures: by the Hebrew "Symeon," the Greek "Simon" (from a Heb. root meaning "hear; listen"), "Cephas" and the combination "Simon Peter."

The times were what they were, violent and primitive in some ways. We can't change that. But Jesus is all about love and light, that can't be denied. Jesus said"I know mine and mine know me." I believe that say's it all.
