Catholic teachings are from God Himself (divine revelation) Because the pope is infallible when teaching on matters of Faith or Morality. The protestant beliefs come from personal interpretation of The Bible. Protestants have some truth, Catholics have the whole truth.

Catholic AnswerThe best way to describe the difference is that Catholics follow Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ. They follow His entire teaching, humbling accepting His Teachings and trying to follow it. Protestants are brought up in a tradition which ignores Our Blessed Lord's teaching (Matthew 16:17-19; Luke 10:16) when He made it clear that He founded a Church, appointed the Apostles (and their successors, the Bishops) to lead it, with St. Peter (and his successors, the Popes) as its head and that they teach with His Voice. Protestants came along fifteen centuries later, disagreed with the teachings of God, and made up their own religion. Catholics believe that they only have one choice in life: to love and serve God or not. Once they have made that choice (which they must continuously make in every decision of their life until the end of their life) all of their decisions are obvious as they are either the Will of God or not. Protestants are taught that they must "interpret" the Bible on their own, they have no infallible teaching authority appointed by Our Blessed Lord, so they must make up their own religion.protestant than catholic then protestant etc it was like this because of the different rulers and their religious beliefs

Protestants and Catholics are all Christians and believe in Christ. However, the Protestants do not accept all the Catholic core beliefs. A number of the mainstream Protestant faiths were started by those who disagreed with some aspects of the Catholic faith. Protestants have many different beliefs. When Martin Luther broke with the Roman Catholic Church he summarized his differences as only Grace, only Faith, and only Scripture. He continued to accept the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed, and many other Christian teachings used by the Roman Catholics. Different protestant groups have different beliefs. The differences in procedures are usually much greater than the differences in doctrine.
