This depends on your point of view. As a Christian, to me, none. Science will eventually catch up. Years ago, the Earth was the center of the Universe, and everything revolved around the planet. The Earth was flat. Science is catching up with the truth.

God's word never changes.

Things that we didn't understand in the past, was all put down to the acts of God.

As we understand the mechanics of how things work, this appears to remove the powers of God, which can be very upsetting to those who have hung their faith on everything.

However, there is room for God in our modern living.

Evolution, is the tool that God uses for creation.

Describe four models of relationship between science and religion?

There is no relationship, and it is not proper to give religion an air of respectibility by mentioning it in the same breath as science. Religion is against science because science proves religious belief is a laughing-stock. Religion has inhibited progress in science, and will, by nature, always try to do so. Compare a prayer to a jab of penicillin. Science is questions that may never be answered; religion is answers that may never be questioned. I'd like to know how we got here then......In your opinion.

Why do people think science and religion are not compatible?

Although science and religion are not necessarily contradictory the point of view of each is different. Science is a model based reality. Stephen Hawking has a paper given on the difference between science and the need for God. A good model gives a good, rigorous, and testable explanation that can predict future repeatable outcomes that can be tested. Religion gives us a faith based reality that doesn't give predictions that can be tested. Religion can be based on past experience both spiritual and physical. Faith is the underlying proof which is difficult to give to someone that doesn't have it. Therefore as a Christian and a scientist I do not have compatibility problems with science and religion as long as the literature and focus of each are recognized.

How is science different from fact and from religion?

Science uses facts as the basis for making sense of the world. Religion uses 'faith' to give meaning to our presence in the world. However, if faith (religion) is used to explain facts then it will fail because science works better at explaining the physical world. From what we understand at the moment science can not prove or disprove the existence of God and thus there is room for 'faith' (religion) in the world. The important thing to remember about Science is that a scientific explanation of the observed facts is not a 'truth' it is JUST an explanation that stands until a better one is found. Science requires that you continually test theories.
