well you only have to look at the bible to see how jesus asked his disciples to drop all they had 'leave your fishing nets and boats upon the shore' to see that discipleship is about saying yes to the lord. therefore if we define vocation as a call from god then we must also say yes, just as the disciples did.

Discipleship is the practice by which someone is followed and their doctrine is spread. Assuming you are asking this in a biblical context, discipleship is the practice of following Jesus, and thus encouraging others to follow him as well. It is the way by which his teachings and his doctrine are spread to the world. More specifically, being a disciple is about holding to Jesus' teachings, and falls synonymous to the word 'discipline'. Christians were first called Christians because the disciples were like Christ.
Discipleship refers to the process of following and learning from a teacher, mentor, or leader. It often involves seeking guidance, instruction, and wisdom to grow spiritually, morally, or intellectually in line with the teachings or beliefs of the mentor.
Oscar Romero, the Archbishop of San Salvador, exemplified discipleship through his unwavering commitment to social justice and the defense of the marginalized during a time of political oppression in El Salvador. He used his position to speak out against human rights abuses and advocated for the poor, embodying Christ's teachings of love, compassion, and advocacy for the oppressed. Romero's martyrdom in 1980 for his beliefs further solidified his role as a disciple of Christ, inspiring many to continue the struggle for justice and peace. His legacy serves as a powerful reminder of the call to discipleship that involves both faith and action.
