they foolishly attempted to build a tower to the heavens (in a sense lessening the extent of g-d's greatness). and not only was it a sin to g-d; supposedly the people stopped caring for one another... apparently if a brick would fall from above and hit someone in the head and kill them, the builders wouldn't even bother worrying about their deceased fellow; rather they would return the brick to its high up spot as quickly as possible. this resulted in god destroying the tower and spreading all the people in different lands (each with a different language) so they could not continue.
No - Nothing existed before 'Biblical Times' except God.
Darius was king of the Persian Empire, not a god. Babylon was part of his empire.
The Bible, as we know it, was not actually written down until the Jewish people were exiled in Babylon.
ANSWER: Yes, Babylon is the system that came out of Babel. Nimrod, the chief mason of the building of the tower of Babel told people that they were cowards if they trusted in God. Nimrod was "in front of" God in a negative way. In other words, he was against God. By the same token Babylon is the control system against God. It is a control system that girdles the globe in iniquity (lawlessness). God doesn't tell Pagans to come out of Babylon, but rather he admonishes his people to come out of her (Revelation 18:2-4).
The biblical story of God providing water from a rock shows divine intervention by showcasing how God miraculously provided for the Israelites' need for water in the desert. It demonstrates that God can intervene in times of need and sustain his people through miraculous means.
Daniel was not a god, he was a faithful isralite that loved the Lord and prayed 3 times a day, God had honored him with grace, favor, and wisdom to interpret dreams.

Secular Scholars argue that the Great Ziggurat at Ur, the largest Babylonian Temple of which we are aware, was the inspiration behind the Biblical Account of the Tower of Babel. However, regardless of whether you believe the Tower of Babel to be real or not, it would be distinct from the Great Ziggurat.
