We humans are charged to be stewards of this beautiful planet called Earth - managers of its life and resources if you will. Besides this, which we have all dealt poorly with, we are told how the Earth became (see Job 38:7 and chapter 26) and how it was 'renewed' after a catastrophic event (see Psalm 104:30). We also understood that the Earth is not flat as believed by many others at one time:
