According to tradition, Demas or Dismas was the name of the penitent thief hanging on the right, and Gestas of the impenitent on the left. They were both robbers, probably followers of Barabbas, who was released instead of Jesus, according to Roman custom.

They were two thieves, who were put to death by crucifixion. Destiny did that they were companions of Jesus in those terrible last hours. Being already nailed on their crosses, one of them, known as DISMAS, repented of his misdeeds and asked Jesus to remember him. Jesus promised that that same day he would be with Him in Paradise. GESTAS, the other malefactor, did not accept Jesus and did not repent of his miserable life as evildoer. He only wanted to be saved of his sufferings on the cross. After some hours of public torture the executioners finished the execution of the two brigands by breaking their legs with clubs blows. Since their bodies were not claimed, they were buried in a mass grave.
Jesus was born on December 25th. If you think he was born on Easter, your wrong. That was just when he rose from the grave.
Easter is the day Jesus rose from the dead. Good Friday was the day when he died on the cross for our sins.
We have Easter because that is the day that Jesus comes back to life.
No you would not be in the wrong religious group.
Jesus was crucified. Jesus was nailed to a cross. Three days after he died he came back to life. This day happend to be Easter Sunday, or Palm Sunday.
Because back then you were not supposed to bury ciminals. (Jesus was not a criminal, but the Romans thought He was.) Besides, the Bible says it was the Sabbath Day, and you are not supposed to labor on that day.
That's the day of the week when Jesus came back to life.
It is very likely. The day is based off of another holiday. Plus, Jesus was conceived on Dec. 8, and he is born within the same month
no, you rise again when Jesus comes back to judge, then you go to heaven or hell depending on whether you believe in Jesus or not
I assume you mean return, and by that you mean, When did Jesus return to earth after his Ascension. The answer is, he hasn't yet. Jesus will come back in the last days of the Earth, and when he comes, you won't be able to miss it (see Revelation 19:11-16) If you mean, what day did Jesus return after his death, he rose 3 days after his crucifixion which was a Sunday.
I don't think so. Even though Peter was told that Jesus will come back, he was very surprised on Easter day XD
