Jesus rebukes Peter in Mark 8:33, saying to him, "Get behind me Satan, for thou savourest not the things of God, but the things of men." Peter had just rebuked Jesus for speaking of his impending death, and this is Jesus' response. These rebukes form part of a chiastic structure, an ancient literary device in which an opening set of events is mirrored by a second set to create emphasis and develop themes not otherwise apparent:
a. Peter affirms that Jesus is the Messiah
.. b Jesus refers to his death and resurrection
.... c Peter rebukes Jesus
.... c' Jesus rebukes Peter
.. b' Jesus refers to death, the cross and life after death
a'. "Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me ..."
Here we see that the two rebukes (events c and c') link Peter's affirmation of Jesus with Jesus' warning not to be ashamed of him. We know that later in the gospel, Peter indeed denies his affirmation of Jesus and seems ashamed to have known him.
Jesus made that statement to Peter in Matthew 16:23
Peter cut off the ear of Malchus, the servant of the high priest, during the arrest of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. This incident is recorded in the New Testament, specifically in the Gospels of John, Luke, and Matthew. Peter's impulsive action was meant to defend Jesus, but Jesus healed Malchus's ear and rebuked Peter for his violence.
Jesus asked his disciples, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ." Peter, according to this passage, believed that Jesus was the Messiah.
After Peter cut off the ear of the high priest's servant, Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Put your sword back in its place, for all who draw the sword will die by the sword." He then healed the servant's ear, emphasizing that his mission was not to resort to violence. Jesus highlighted the importance of fulfilling the scriptures and God's plan rather than engaging in conflict.
Peter denied Jesus three times.
Peter baptised jesus. (Matthew 16:18 -- "And I say to thee: thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church..")
rebuked them
When Jesus was being taken away by the soldiers, his most beloved disciple, Peter, cut off the ear of one of the soldiers' slaves in an attempt to protect his Lord. Jesus rebuked him, touched the year of the slave, and restored it to it's place.
here we can say it is Simon Peter.
All we know is that one robber repented , and the other robber rebuked Jesus.
after Jesus had seen Peter and his brother at the fish
The Apostle Peter depicted several things in the Ministry of Jesus. He showed how close one can be with God. He was one of the closest to Jesus was free to express himself, ask or answer questions. Through his responses to Jesus we learnt with faith we can walk on water. He did when Jesus asked him to come to him on water but began to drown when he took his attention off Jesus. The significance of this is that our faith should be stable. Through Peter we see that God can speak through a man and the devil can too. If we are yielded to God, we hear his voice, if we are to the devil, same happens. When Jesus asked His disciples who people said He was, Peter answered correctly and Jesus said God revealed it to him, so Peter heard from God. When Peter reprimanded Jesus when He spoke about His death, Jesus rebuked Satan yet he was talking to Peter, so Peter yielded himself to the devel at that time. It was through Peter the early Church got to know that the Gentiles also were included in God's salvation plan.
