John was writing the things that he saw and heard in a vision. A time came when the seven thunders uttered their voices. Apparently God did not want the world to know this particular part of the vision at the time. So he commanded john not to write it down.
The Revelation of Jesus ChristUsually this book is just called Revelation.
The book of Revelations was written by John on the island of Patmos roughly in the year 90.A.D.
I John along with II and III John were wrote by the Apostle John Before he wrote the booke of Revelations, which was penned around 90 a.d. The book of Revelations was the last book of the Bible to be written, fittingly so, as it also the book concerning the end of Gods dealing with man and his sin.
The Book of Revelation is traditionally attributed to the apostle John, though there is some debate among scholars about its authorship. Regardless, it is accepted as part of the New Testament in Christian scripture.
The writer of the book of Revelations in the New Testament is John (inspired by Jesus Christ) meaning that it came from God and he just wrote it. It was written while John was on a island that he was excelled to because of his beliefs he stayed there till he died.
St. John was supposedly Jesus Christ's cousin. He was a holy man who baptised people and the most beloved of all Jesus' followers, or diciples, by Jesus himself. John wrote chapters in the New Testament; John, John I, John II, John III and Revelations. The books of John-John III were a collection of letters that John wrote to different churches and people. Revelations was the book that St. John wrote that "foretold" what the end of times, or Apocalypse, would hold.
The bible says that Joseph was a decendent of Ruth, and Jesus was the lamb in the book of revelations.
St. John the Baptist and St. John the author of the book of Revelations.
Revelation is written by John, but is Christ's revelation. Revelation 1:1-2 1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw-that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
John 20:30, 31 - And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. [NKJV]
John who wrote Revelations is believed to have been a different John than the apostle. The writing between the two books (The Gospel of John and Revelations) is remarkably different than one another. And God did not necessarily choose John to write anything. He very well could have written Revelations all on his own. And Revelations wasn't divinely chosen to be in the Bible, nor were any of the books divinely chosen. The Council of Nicea chose what books would be included in the Bible and Revelations barely made it in by vote! And that's too bad. If it hadn't we wouldn't have kooky people today worried about the end of the world, 666 or even Hell. John was a recluse who lived in a cave and likely had mental problems.
The last book in the Bible is called Revelation or the Revelations of St. John.
