Satan was tempting Our Blessed Lord to turn stones into bread, not the other way around!
Rocks
Satan told Jesus that he should turn the stone into bread.(Luke 4:3-4)
Satan didn't tempt Jesus to be a kind of messiah. Satan tempted Jesus to turn away from being the messiah. Satan tempted Jesus to turn away from God the father and to worship him, Satan
Satan wanted Jesus to turn stones into bread, since Jesus was fasting. Jesus reminded Satan that man does not live by bread alone. The point was, you must feed your soul as well as your body, and if you have to pick, you save your immortal soul.
A:The three temptations in the wilderness are not in Mark's Gospel, but came into the Gospels of Matthew and Luke from the hypothetical 'Q' document. Although using the same source document, the two authors recorded two of the temptations in different sequences. Matthew's Gospel says that the devil first tried to tempt Jesus to turn a stone into bread, then took Jesus up to the pinnacle of the Temple in Jerusalem, and then to a high mountain in order to tempt him. Luke's Gospel says that the devil tried to tempt Jesus to turn a stone into bread, then took Jesus up to a high mountain in order to tempt him, and then to the pinnacle of the Temple in Jerusalem. In both cases, Jesus did not the succumb to the temptation to turn stone into bread, and the devil had to try another temptation.

1) Satan said to Jesus, who was fasting, if you are hungry, turn the bread into stones. Jesus said man does not live by bread alone, but, by every word that comes from God. 2) Satan said to Jesus, why not throw yourself off a cliff and see if the angels will catch you? Jesus said not to put God to the test and force God to save you. 3) Satan then said that if Jesus were to worship him (the devil), then the devil would give all the kingdoms on Earth to rule. Jesus said, thou shall worship the Lord God, and no other than the Lord God. With that, the devil, Satan, departed. Jesus refused to do what the devil said, and the devil gave up trying to tempt Jesus.
In the King James version In Matthew 4 # Satan came to Jesus when he was fasting and tempted him to turn stones to bread. # Satan took Jesus to the top of the temple in Jereusalem and tempted him to jump off, saying that angels would protect him. # Next Satan offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if he would worship Satan.
Bread.
The Temptations were: 1. To turn stones into bread and it eat 2. To jump down a cliff and let the angels catch him 3.To surrender to the devil by receiving his kingdom as a reward
In the 4th chapter of both Matthew and Luke we find the two accounts of Jesus' "temptation" by Satan. In the accounts, Satan "twists the meaning and intent of the Scriptures" to try to get Jesus to "sin" [to disobey the Commandments - I John 3:4]. But Jesus' response is to "quote Scripture" [the TRUTH - John 17:17] right back at him in the True Spirit of their intent.
Thrice. Once by suggesting to Him to turn stones into bread, then by suggesting He jump off the top of the temple and let angels save him to gain fame, and lastly by offering Him all the world's treasures if He bowed down to the devil.
