What did the disciples do after Jesus' ascension into heaven?

They descended from the Mount of Olives, from which Jesus ascended into heaven, went to a common place of residence ... and in the course of time, went about choosing someone to replace Judas Iscariot among their number [Acts 1].

"...while they beheld, He [Jesus] was taken up; and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.

"Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the Mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a Sabbath day's journey. And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where aboce both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

"These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brethren..." (Acts 1:11- ).

On Pentecost, the disciples received power from God to be witnesses of the crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ.

When they received that power, they started to speak in new tongues and prophesy the Word of God. From cowards they transformed into bold lions, preaching to all that Jesus is alive, and people should repent from sin.

The same experience is valid and happening today, when a person accepts Jesus in his heart, the Lord is pouring out the promise from the Old Testament - the Holy Spirit.
Tens of millions of people have the same experience in the world today.

Then Peter said unto them: "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
