What do some atheists believe about human problems?
It is my opinion that many human problems can be solved by compassionate understanding, science and ethics. It is my opinion that problems are created by humans and humans must learn to solve them without killing each other. On a more personal level, people need to take responsibility for solving their own problems and not think someone or something will do that for them.

No group has a unified approach to things. Some atheists see problems as opportunities for improvement, others as a reason to run around in circles feeling upset, still others have their own personal response.

Atheists cannot be lumped together, we are not 'organized' into one doctrine. The vast majority of Atheists do believe that basic human rights are inherent within people rather then mandated by any god. They come from humans, and can only be achieved though human intervention.

Existentialism has nothing to do with problem solving. We use logic and scientific reasoning like anyone else.

There are many atheists in the world. So i guess you can. Faith is not needed for the human body to flourish.

The main problem faced by atheists is the discrimination brought about by the mischaracterization of atheists and misconceptions about atheism promulgated from the pulpits of many religious groups. Believers are extremely uncomfortable with those who choose not to believe in the supernatural. Misconceptions have been spread from the pulpit for centuries that atheists have no morals and values, they deny religion so they can all be libertines and do as they please, and that they are all doomed to spend eternity in hell. Religion was born out of fear of the unknown and religionists fear those who don't share that fear. Moral behavior and values can be adopted without religion. They benefit the human community and don't need religion to teach nor prove their value. There are good and bad people in every group of humans, both believers and non-believers.

Buddhists do not fit into an imposed atheist/theist categorization. Buddhists have no god(s) but believe in an afterlife and an immortal part of a human's existence. The first would qualify them as atheists to many religious people. The second and third would make them not 100% in line with the "material world only" thinking of many atheists.
