We seek medical help for ourselves and our families, and we trust that the trained medical proffessionals will have our best interests at heart. We do not believe that a person's health should be left to faith or prayers alone as some religions teach. But when we get sick, we are encouraged to go seek medical help.
The ONLY prohibition that we observe is what we percieve to be the Bible's view on the use of blood. At Acts 15: 28,29, The Bible states to abstain from blood. In view of this, and other Bible verses, we do not accept blood transfusions. However, we do accept non-blood substances in place of blood transfusions, as long as real blood is not used.
In the field of non-blood treatment, there have been fantastic advances to the point now, where the use of real blood is almost always not actually needed. Some entire hospitals have now converted completely to not using blood at all for transfusions. A non-witness website called noblood.org gives a lot of information about this. We love life and health, and so we seek and accept medical help as needed. We accept almost all treatments offered.
We only reject blood transfusions or the infusion of the major componants of blood. We do accept the safer alternatives to this, and as a result often have a quicker recovery than those who take blood. There has been a great deal of advancement in recent years of non blood alternative at many hospitals around the world, and even the US Military is now looking into non blood treatment.
Some individuals may reject various other medical treatments for other personal non-religious reasons, but our religious view is as outlined.
