I think it means that God's kingdom (Heaven) will come (To earth). Thy will be done as it is in Heaven means that the will of God will be done on earth just like Heaven. Meaning when Heaven comes all of earth will obey God and it will be as good as Heaven, it will be perfect. Jesus prayed this to God when he was teaching the disciples how to pray, 9 "This, then, is how you should pray: "'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one 14For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
"Kingdom Come" is a phrase from the bible, specifically: "...Kingdom Come, Your Will Be Done, On Earth as it is in Heaven...." The literal meaning being "I will knock you to heaven" but the social meaning of "I will hurt you greatly"
The Bible tells us to teach people about God, and his purpose to establish his kingdom on earth. (Lords prayer..' thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven...' This follows the example of Jesus Christ.
To say the Lord's Prayer, you recite the words: "Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven..." and so on.
No. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Christ is very much alive - - in Heaven; that he is the appointed King of God's Kingdom. He is a 'living' King, not a 'dead' King. Soon his Kingdom will come, and God's will, will be done on EARTH, as it is in heaven. There will be peace on earth. These are things a dead Jesus could not accomplish.
Christ prayed "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven". In short, God established man to rule the earth just as He rules heaven and earth. Because of Adam and Eve's fall we now battle sinful flesh and it's desires while we attempt to live Godly lives. God is using man in the earth to establish His Kingdom. Those who are "born again" are God's children and have access to eternal life in Heaven and abundant life on earth.
The Methodist version is: : Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name : Thy kingdom come,Thy will be done, on earth as in heaven. : Give us this day our daily bread. : And forgive us our trespasses, : As we forgive those who trespass against us. : And lead us not into temptation, : But deliver us from evil. : For thine is the kingdom, : and the power, and the glory, : for ever and ever. Amen.
Mt:6:9: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Lk:11:2: And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
