Most Christians believe life to be a gift from God and also that it is not ours to take as we please, since Christians have been 'bought with a price', the precious blood of Jesus. Thus Christians consider that they do not own or possess their own life. It is not theirs to dispose of as they please, but that God will allow it to end when He sees fit.

Suicide is also frequently a means of escape from a situation which could either be resolved with God's help or that could be faced with God's help, whatever it is. Paul's comment 'I can do all things' through Christ and the sure knowledge that He cares makes all the difference.

Suicide is a sin against God. Some believe that God does not forgive suicide because you can't repent or ask for forgiveness. Others believe that God can forgive anything he wants any time he wants. Still others believe that their family and friends can ask for forgiveness on their behalf.
